Summary

Not the same as reading the novel but, as a comic book fan, this graphic novel is a fun way to revisit groundbreaking works like this one。

🤮🤢 very cramped in terms of things going on within the story。。 the main guy had a weird habit of adding fuel to fires despite being a fire fighter, and his wife apparently committed suicide-- i just couldnt understand anything。 😖 on one page, he was just normally having a conversation and the next he was dementedly burning down books。 (yes。 books)

This was one of the graphic novels accompanying a classic that I actually liked。 I read the brave new world graphic novel and didn’t like it v much。

Having not ever read Fahrenheit 451, this one took me a little while to understand what was going on。 However, I definitely want to read the original now and found the story to be really interesting。 The art style is really unique and engaging, and it was a good introduction to the story!

It's an adaptation of a great book, it can't be perfect, but it gets the job done。 I would also recommend reading the original book, considering it's not that long and is certainly a superb addition to any collection。 It presents a dystopian world that nobody really wants, except the people who aim to control the masses。Guy Montag is a fireman。 This means that he burns books that are labled undesirable。 A chance encounter with Clarisse McClellan opens his eyes to his job and his life。 His wife's It's an adaptation of a great book, it can't be perfect, but it gets the job done。 I would also recommend reading the original book, considering it's not that long and is certainly a superb addition to any collection。 It presents a dystopian world that nobody really wants, except the people who aim to control the masses。Guy Montag is a fireman。 This means that he burns books that are labled undesirable。 A chance encounter with Clarisse McClellan opens his eyes to his job and his life。 His wife's attempt to kill herself only adds to his confusion。 One thing is certain - Guy is a changed man。 He doesn't really remember when the world became as contradictory as it is, but he tries to understand it。 There are forces that don't want him to question things, just to be happy and content。(view spoiler)[Guy's coworkers ignore his new view of things。 Questions aren't allowed in their world。 The government sets out rules that must be followed to the letter。 For firemen it's simple - burn all books。 But Guy doubts himself。During a particularly chaotic mission, the owner of books Guy is supposed to burn stays near her prized possessions, though her house burns around her。 On a whim, Guy decides to keep one of the books。 His possession of it must be kept a secret even from his own wife Millie who behaves as little more than a drone while devouring the simple entertainment she is fed on a daily basis。After several more meetings like the first one, Guy doesn't run into Clarisse any more。 Apparently her family moved away after she got run over by a car。 Guy feels terrible, physically ill, partly for losing a friend, partly for his wife being only focused on mundane things。Guy is visited by captain Beatty from work who knows the party policy well。 He reveals to Montag how society ended up the way it is - obviously, this is likely propaganda。 The books became mundane, so the people ruled them out。 The exceptional individuals, often well-read too, stood out in destructive ways - like in the bullying of students with good grades。 So the constitution decided to make everyone equal。 By force。 And thus make everyone happy。Beatty's visit ends with him saying that firemen who stray are given 24 hours to mend themselves and burn their books。 After that the firemen are sent in。 Guy panics, certain he is found out。 He still wants to know the secrets within the books he has hidden。 Millie is too afraid to lose the house that was designed to make her happy and retreats back into the safety of not caring about books - she is a lost cause。Guy is running out of time。 He searches for a man named Faber who was a professor。 They agree to a plan involving copying books and planting them in the houses of firemen to sow sedition。 Though Faber advises against it, Guy reads some lines from a book to his wife's friends。 He is surprised to see one of them crying, clearly touched by his quote, something unheard of in the 'happy' drones。Beatty is another sort of animal altogether。 He pummels Guy with quotes from several books, making the latter's pulse quicken。 His reaction doesn't matter much when his next mission is at his own house。 Beatty orders him to burn his books by himself。 Before being arrested, Guy fights back。 He kills Beatty and knocks his coworkers unconscious。 Guy then retrieves the few books he managed to keep safe and runs away toward the river。Following the river, then the rain tracks, Guy finds a group of intellectuals Faber mentioned。 They welcome him。 They are but a handful of a group of thousands who have memorized entire books to prevent their irreversible loss, in the hope that eventually the works can be printed again。 Guy joins them, while, in the distance, his hometown is bombed by the authorities in an attempt to contain the revolution that is sure to come at some point。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

I did not really enjoy this book。 It felt to me as though the language was far too complex for a graphic novel。 If I had had no idea what the story of Fahrenheit 451 was, this book would have had me completely lost。 However, even with knowing the story of Fahrenheit 451, the adaptation of it into a comic book was very confusing and somehow harder to read than a normal book that lacks pictures。 I appreciate the story, just not how it was adapted into this form。 A line that stood out to me was “I I did not really enjoy this book。 It felt to me as though the language was far too complex for a graphic novel。 If I had had no idea what the story of Fahrenheit 451 was, this book would have had me completely lost。 However, even with knowing the story of Fahrenheit 451, the adaptation of it into a comic book was very confusing and somehow harder to read than a normal book that lacks pictures。 I appreciate the story, just not how it was adapted into this form。 A line that stood out to me was “I like to walk, smell things, and look at things, and sometimes stay up all night, walking and watch the sunrise。” (Hamilton 16)。 I appreciated this line because I believe it is what began to affect Montag。 When the girl told him this, I felt like his eyes were beginning to open to the possibility that books weren’t all that bad, and that the world around them was special。 。。。more

I just finished reading Fahrenheit 451 by Tim Hamilton which is an adaptation of the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury。 This book is not part of a series。 The main theme that I found in the book is, don’t believe everything you see or hear。 The main setting takes place in a futuristic city。 I would give this graphic novel 4/5 stars。 Honestly in my opinion there is nothing to dislike about the book。 This surprises me because you think there is always something to dislike。 But I feel like there I just finished reading Fahrenheit 451 by Tim Hamilton which is an adaptation of the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury。 This book is not part of a series。 The main theme that I found in the book is, don’t believe everything you see or hear。 The main setting takes place in a futuristic city。 I would give this graphic novel 4/5 stars。 Honestly in my opinion there is nothing to dislike about the book。 This surprises me because you think there is always something to dislike。 But I feel like there are a million things I like about it。 First of all, I like the overall character progression because it felt smooth and natural when it came to book characters。 Secondly, I really enjoyed just the overall story, it flowed well, and it seemed like it could be an actual scenario that could happen。 Thirdly, I really enjoyed the characters that were in it, they felt so real, and alive, and for the most part, they are enjoyable characters that people can relate to on some level。 Finally, I would love to reread this graphic novel or the original book as well。 These storybooks have now been banned and if anyone owns them they’ll get burned。 The book follows the main character Guy Montag who is one of the firefighters who burn the books。 Throughout the story, Guy begins to question his choice of being a firefighter through the means of other characters, actions that took place in the setting, and the supposed banned books that he starts to read。 But his world gets flipped upside down when a character named Clarisse gets killed by the Government that he is working for。 With the help of a teacher that has been in hiding Guy finally understands what books are about and then goes on the run from the government。 I would recommend this book to teenage readers because the story tells itself in a way that teenagers are going about their lives today, not really using books too much since everything they need is on their phones, which are right in their pockets and easily accessible。 I would recommend this book to people who like science fiction, I say this because this book is exactly that, science fiction, is a futuristic world that is told in a fictional setting that isn’t as realistic to happen。 。。。more

Fahrenheit 451 by Tim Hamilton is a single novel in the Fictional Dystopia type Genre。 When reading this book i had lots of problems with this book but also some good parts to read。 The character (Montag) during the book is also hard to read and understand his thought process。 I gave this book a 2 star rating because of how confusing the plot is during this book。 During this book I had a lot of Dislikes but I also have a few parts that I really liked。 The main part of the story I really like is Fahrenheit 451 by Tim Hamilton is a single novel in the Fictional Dystopia type Genre。 When reading this book i had lots of problems with this book but also some good parts to read。 The character (Montag) during the book is also hard to read and understand his thought process。 I gave this book a 2 star rating because of how confusing the plot is during this book。 During this book I had a lot of Dislikes but I also have a few parts that I really liked。 The main part of the story I really like is how the Novel really makes sure you understand the message of the story。 Another thing I enjoyed was how it didn't skip main plot parts as a lot of novels/books do in stories like Fictional books。 the main areas i really just didn't like about this book to give it such a low rating was how the book would start having us learn new Characters even near the ending but would remove* certain characters very early on。 I don't like learning about new characters when I'm just about to finish the book。 Another part I really Disliked about this novel was Very little made sense, especially the majority of the population being cool with not thinking for themselves, not wanting to read books, not questioning the war。 Most characters during this book were very boring and you just couldn't really understand what was going on when they talked during the book。 In this book there are people who are so oblivious to what happens to them from the government。 They just consume a lot of television and are all brain dead zombies。 There are even firefighters who burn people's houses down if they have books or do not follow the rules of this strict world they live in。 our protagonist Montag does not agree with this world and wants to change it。 He meets people who do not like it either and has to fight to survive this war that is going on, the book doesn't really explain where and why the war began but there is one。 This book is a recommended book to read if you don't like books that do not explain enough and run through characters like they are not even human。 There was no emotion between the characters and it felt dry to read。 Do not recommend but the art in the book is very pleasing and beautiful。 This book could have been better but in its own way its different so if you are an older person it would be good for you but i don't recommend it。 。。。more

The detail in the illustration really allowed me to connect to the book and have the ability to picture what the book would be like。Doing this for a book club and having a certain amount of pages to read each day was definitely challenging。 I really wanted to just keep reading each day and not stop。The novel was a great one but all good things have a few down sides。 I wasn't too fond of how some scenes felt almost unfinished。 Some big things would happen and it would be 1 page of straight illustration。It felt under-written and as if those moments were unimportant even though I felt they were very important。Also I would have loved a bit more background information on the past world and what created the new world to come about。 Overall I enjoyed it and would say the bad moments outweighed the goods。 This novel was definitely a roller coaster over emotions。 The novel starts off pretty neutral。 Guy Montag, the main character, is just living。 Not a crazy life, not a bad life, just life。 He is living in a world where firefighters start the fires。 If someone has books in their house they must leave or they with the house are burnt。 He is one of the fire fighters。 He encounters a new friend and explores different perspectives of life。 He continues looking at life in a new point of few and discovers there is much more to life than the life he is living。 After some exploration he realizes it might be a little too late to chase that life he really wants。 Once that reality check hit him his world started falling apart。 It wasn't one huge problem occurring, it was little problems that kept constantly happening that eventually just built up。 He struggled for a while with a lot of self to self conflict not knowing what decisions to make。 Both options are things that could change his life majorly。 After many heartbreaks, runaways, scary moments, escapes, and many more he finally found peace。 Not the peace he thought he would have, not with the people he thought he would find that peace with but in the end he still found peace。 I wasn't sure what I was going to think of the book because I have never read a graphic novel before。 After reading, I am pleasantly surprised。 If you like Mysteries and lots of plot twists I would HIGHLY recommend this novel for you。 It will definitely keep you tied in。 This book does have some mature scenes so I would recommend it for a mature reader。 All in all I enjoyed this novel and would read it again! 。。。more

A great adaption! Obviously, much more concise and I can only figure they wanted it to be marketable so they didn't make too big or even split it up into several volumes。 Either way, I absolutely love the illustrations。 It really captures how I imagined it when I first read it。 Of course, I would recommend reading the actual book first, but this is a great graphic novel for fans of the book to read。 A great adaption!
